The occupational, physical,
and speech therapists of the South Shore Educational
Collaborative provide school based therapy services for students
with special needs who require appropriate supportive services
to benefit from special education.

Dawn
Whitney-Flaherty, OTR/L, Director of Occupational Therapy,
Physical Therapy and Assistive Technology Services
Dawn has provided occupational therapy for students
attending South Shore Educational Collaborative Programs and
member school districts since 1990. In 1998, she completed
intensive training in assistive technology through a
Massachusetts Technology Literacy Challenge Grant which led
to forming a multidisciplinary assistive technology team and
establishing the South Shore Educational Collaborative
Assistive Technology Center.

Services
Therapists
are members of the special educational team. They
collaborate with the educational team to determine the
best way to meet student learning needs. Therapists
provide evaluation and therapeutic intervention for
students with disabilities aged three to twenty two in
the Collaborative programs and member school districts.
Therapists also provide consult services to adults in
the
Community Adult Program.
