February 8: Educational Podcasts, Blogs & Wikis - Learn
about podcasts, blogs, and wikis and how they can be used
both by teachers and students to support curriculum. You'll
explore existing examples and find out what software to
consider for making your own.
February 14: Microsoft Word 2010 for Beginners/Intermediates
- Put the new version of Word to work for you! Explore new
styles, photo enhancement, page design, and all the basics
too.
February 28: PowerPoint 2010 for Beginners/Intermediates --
See what's new and make breathtaking and effective
PowerPoint presentations for use in classroom and websites
-- useful for teachers and admin!
March 8: Desktop Publishing (Microsoft Publisher 2010) Beg/Int
-- Develop newsletters, brochures, flyers, calendars -- this
is the best program to use. Learn all you need to create
any printed publication!
March 14: Quick and Simple Websites using Weebly -- Build
your own school website quickly and easily using free online
software. Perfect for classroom sites, no server required,
no experience necessary!
Technology
Instruction at the South Shore Educational Collaborative helps
educators, librarians, counselors, and administrators from
area schools reach a higher level of competency in
computers, software, and integrating technology in the K-12
classroom.
Instruction is available year round in most software
applications, including web 2.0 offering such as blogs,
wikis, podcasts, and social media. All courses provide professional development points. All employees of K-12 alliance schools may attend technology
instruction at no charge. The standard fee for educators
is $100 per course day; $200 for non-educators who
wish to attend. Note NEW times: All courses run from 8:30 AM -
2:00 PM
with 1/2 hour for lunch and earn 5 PDPs.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made two weeks prior to the course
to Karen Thomsen via email
or fax to
781-740-0784.
If you must cancel, you may always send a substitute from
your school, but registrants are still responsible for course fees
if an individual cancels within two weeks.
Weather Related Cancellations
The
SSEC bases weather related cancellations on the town of
Weymouth. If Weymouth schools are cancelled due to
snow, you may assume the SSEC is also closed. We will
contact you after the storm to reschedule.

Most courses are held at 90 Industrial Park Road in Hingham,
MA. Click here for
