Department
of Children and Families - Previously called the
Department of Social Services, this is Massachusetts' child
welfare agency whose primary focus is the safety and
security of children in their homes. For the following south

Department
of Mental Health - As the State Mental Health
Authority, the Department of Mental Health assures and
provides access to services and supports to meet the mental
health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to
live, work and participate in their communities.

Department
of Public Health - contains information on the
programs and services provided by the 17 agencies within
Health and Human Services (HHS) responsible for statewide
programs to promote health and prevent disease of residents
with the following departments: adolescent youth and
development, substance abuse, violence prevention, early
intervention, and food and nutrition programs.
Early
Intervention -
provides family-centered services to help children who
qualify to develop the skills they will need to continue to
grow into happy and healthy members of the community.
Department
of Transitional Assistance (DTA) - The mission of
the Department of Transitional Assistance is to assist
low-income individuals and families to meet their basic
needs, increase their incomes, and improve their quality of
life. DTA provides assistance to families with dependent
children; Social Security, Food Stamps, and emergency aid to
senior citizens and disabled children.
Department
of Youth Services the juvenile
justice agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Their
mission is to protect the public and prevent crime by
promoting positive change in the lives of youth committed to
our custody, and by partnering with communities, families,
government and provider agencies toward this end.
Developmental
Disabilities Services - is dedicated to creating,
in partnership with others, innovative and genuine
opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities
to participate fully and meaningfully in, and contribute to,
their communities as valued members.

of Developmental Services Eligibility
- for individuals with intellectual and developmental
disabilities.
Massachusetts
Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) - promotes
dignity for individuals with disabilities through employment
and independent living in the community. MRC is responsible
for Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Community Services,
and eligibility determination for the Social Security
Disability Insurance (SSDI) and the Supplemental Security
Income (SSI) federal benefits programs.
Probate
and Family Court Department - This department
delivers timely justice to the public by providing equal
access to a fair, equitable and efficient forum to resolve
family and probate legal matters and to assist and protect
all individuals, families and children in an impartial and
respectful manner.
