Counseling Centers

Bay State Community Services - The purpose of Bay State Community Services is to improve the social functioning of adults, adolescents and children within a framework that recognizes the primary importance of family and community. Most programs offer help based on need, regardless of ability to pay.

Bayview Associates - Bayview Associates is the child and adolescent wing of South Shore Mental Health. This program offers assessment and counseling to individuals, couples, children, and families. Our multi-disciplinary team of social workers, counselors, nurses, psychologists, and psychiatrists specialize in treating anxiety, depression, marital problems, trauma, grieving, and other difficulties that interfere with everyday life and work.

Family Services of Greater Boston - Mental health and substance abuse counseling and certified Home Health Agency. Payment assistance available if eligible. Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance accepted.

South Bay Mental Health - South Bay Mental Health has over 20 programs and our team consists of over 500 dedicated professionals. South Bay's clear mission, innovation and strong commitment to service have made the organization readily recognizable throughout Massachusetts.

South Shore Mental Health - SSMH provides a wide array of counseling and evaluation services to adults, children and their families. Services are offered at a variety of locations throughout the South Shore, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Cape Cod. We are in schools, homes, offices, hospitals, and other settings working to build a healthy and positive environment.

South Shore Coalition of Independent Therapists -
SSCIT is a well established, unique community of psychotherapists, psychologists and psychiatric medical providers on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Out of this community, we have created an annual directory of members as a reference for the professional world. This directory has been used by our members and the professional community at large to quickly access each member's updated contact information, office location(s), description of therapeutic interests and styles as well as medical insurance affiliations.

School Psychiatry.org - This site will help you meet the needs of young people with depression, bipolar disorder, attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorders, and anxiety disorders, including panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Children's Behavioral Health Initiative - In response to the federal law suit, Rosie D. v. Romney, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services has launched an initiative to expand and improve the delivery and coordination of mental health services for children and adolescents who are in Medicaid or who are Medicaid-eligible. Substance Abuse Treatment

Bayview Associates Evaluation and Counseling - Substance abuse evaluations, individual and group counseling, day treatment and mental health services, substance abuse prevention and intervention programs and residential services. Most types of health insurance accepted except HMO's. Sliding fee scale and grants from the Department of Public Health, if eligible. Intake/ Hotline: (800) 675-8108

Al-Anon/Alateen/Pre-Alateen Family Groups - a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope, in order to solve their common problems.

Manet Community Health Center - serves the broad health needs of South Shore residents through a family practice model of care. A multi-site community based health center, Manet works to ensure that its patients have access to all levels of the health care system. Manet is especially committed to providing services for the medically underserved

Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Abuse Services - oversees the substance abuse and gambling prevention and treatment services in the Commonwealth. Responsibilities include: licensing programs and counselors; funding and monitoring prevention and treatment services; providing access to treatment for the indigent and uninsured; developing and implementing policies and programs; and tracking substance abuse trends in the state.

National Drug and Alcohol Treatment Referral - this website provides an online list of drug and alcohol treatment programs provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration

Andrew House Detoxification Center/Bay Cove Human Services - Substance abuse treatment facility. Detoxification and methadone/ LAAM treatment. MassHealth or no insurance. Department of Public Health assistance available for payment if eligible.

Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates - Relapse and prevention counseling groups, and substance abuse treatment. Private insurance and Medicare with a secondary form of insurance accepted. No MassHealth.

Quitting Time Addictions Program - South Shore Mental Health Center; Intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program; dually-diagnosed individuals are accepted. Accepts most commercial insurances and provides self-pay program if eligible.

South Bay Mental Health Center - Outpatient mental health clinic for children and their families. Outpatient substance abuse treatment program. Individual, family, and group counseling available. Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance accepted.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving - MADD is an organization looking for effective solutions to the drunk driving and underage drinking problems, while supporting those who have already experienced the pain of these senseless crimes.

Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD) - provides students with the best prevention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, other drug use, impaired driving and other destructive decisions.
