Food Stamps
The
U.S. Department of Agriculture provides
low-income households with coupons to purchase food. To
apply, call toll free 1-800-645-8333. Proof of income and
Social Security number is required.

Founded in 2002, Cradles to Crayons (C2C) is an
innovative Quincy-based nonprofit organization that equips
homeless and in-need children with the basic essentials they
need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn and valued. Cradles
to Crayons works with families through local social service
agencies to provide clothing, school supplies and other
essential items

Bureau Drawer Thrift Shop - provides an
opportunity for the community to purchase new and gently
worn clothing for men, women, children, and infants as well
as toys, jewelry, books, shoes and household items at very
reasonable prices. The shop, located in the rear of 105
Adams Street in Quincy, is open Wednesday through Friday.

Department of Transitional Assistance

Services include food and nutritional assistance, cash
assistance, and employment supports.
Clients would need to go to the address above to see if
they qualify for emergency housing assistance. If they
qualify, they will be referred to a housing search
worker.

Shelter services consists of these faith-based programs:
• Friends of the Homeless Shelters: provides safe and secure
emergency housing at sites in Hingham, Weymouth, Norwell and
Cohasset, and works in concert with various state and local
agencies to assist our guests in finding safe and affordable
permanent housing.
• Faith Home-Share is a network of families who open their
homes to give homeless families a place to live until they
can find permanent housing.
• Friends of the Homeless Volunteers provide emotional
support, information, transportation, child care, meals,
special projects and more to sheltered families.

Community Action Programs (QCAP)

area dedicated to reducing poverty and helping low-income
people achieve self-sufficiency. QCAP provides adult
education & workforce development, early childhood education
& care, energy assistance programs, food & nutrition,
housing programs and money management.

Shore Housing Development Corporation - is
responsible for the administration of programs involving
case management and education, family self-sufficiency,
first time homebuyer workshops, housing consumer education
center, landlord seminars, residential assistance for
families in transition, scattered site transitional
apartment program and tenant training workshops.
